Jakarta (Antara Bali) -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla left for Japan from Halim Perdanakusuma airport on Thursday night among others to attend the United Nation`s Natural Disaster Mitigation Conference.
Jusuf Kalla (JK) is also scheduled to meet with the Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Foreign Minister Kishida, in accordance with the statement issued by the vice presidential office here on Thursday.
During his stay in Japan, JK will also visit LNG Plant in Chiba province and will have talks with a number Japanese businessmen. The vice president will return home on March 17.
On last Monday, JK said he would share Indonesia`s experience in mitigating the impacts of natural disasters such as earthquakes, mount eruptions, tsunamis and others. He will also submit Indonesia`s suggestions regarding mitigation efforts on the impacts of natural disasters.
He said that the UN conference will also formulate a joint international effort in the handling of the impacts of natural disasters.
"It will formulate a better international cooperation when a natural disaster takes place. Indonesia is most experienced and is successful in its efforts such as in the handling of the impacts of the Aceh tsunami," he said. (WDY)
