Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Joko Widodo and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Jokowi-Ahok won the vote on Thursday to be the next Jakarta governor and vice governor, according to survey results.
Based on a quick count by Indo Barometer Jokowi-Ahok beat incumbent Fauzi Bowo and Nachrowi Ramli or Foke-Nara winning 54.24 percent of the votes leaving the rest 45.76 percent to Foke-Nara.
Meanwhile, according to the Indonesia Survey Institute (LSI) Jokowi-Ahok collected 53 percent of the votes while Foke-Nara 46.25 percent.
Television stations covered the election and presented the results of quick counts by survey institutes.
Joko Widodo who is the mayor of Solo, a city in Central Java, meanwhile said incumbent governor Fauzi Bowo had called him to congratulate over his victory in the election.(IGT/T007)
