Several malls or shopping centers in Bali Province have commenced operations following the issuance of Bali Governor's Circular Letter Number 15 of 2021 but both employees and visitors should comply with the PeduliLindungi mobile application for digital contact tracing.

"We have started to open (the mall) today and have made it mandatory to use the PeduliLindung application for all employees and visitors that will enter the mall," Spokesperson of Lippo Mall Kuta Hendra Darmawan stated here on Thursday.

In the circular of Governor Wayan Koster, shopping centers, malls, and trade centers in Bali are allowed to operate, with a 50-percent visitor capacity until  09:00 p.m. local time.

Mall managers are required to use the PeduliLindung application to screen all mall employees and visitors.

In addition, only visitors that have received the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination are allowed to enter the mall. Meanwhile, high-risk groups, such as pregnant women, residents aged under 12 years, and residents over 70 years of age, are not allowed to enter the mall.

Darmawan remarked that before operating on a limited basis during the public activity restrictions (PPKM) period, his side had necessitated the use of the PeduliLindung application in a bid to disseminate information to visitors.

"Since last May, we have installed a QR Code and tested the PeduliLindung application. Now, we have started to open the mall, and there is a rule of using the PeduliLindung application, so we are very ready," he stated.

Meanwhile, General Manager of the Beachwalk Shopping Center Gita Sunarwulan remarked that visitors and workers at the shopping center must follow the existing rules by scanning the QR Code in the PeduliLindung application.

In addition, her side does not allow children under the age of 12, people aged over 70 years, and pregnant women to enter the mall area, as they have a high risk of being exposed to COVID-19.

"Everyone who comes to the Beachwalk Shopping Center must also have received the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination or show a certificate from a doctor or other supporting documents for those not meeting the requirements for vaccination," she noted.

"Our visitors are expected to always wear masks, wash their hands, and always maintain physical distancing while visiting the Beachwalk Shopping Center," she remarked.
