"Women are invited to exercise their voting rights in accordance with the political interests and political conscience," said Tjahjo at Royal Kuningan Hotel, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
In addition, the Home Affairs Minister also appealed to women who would lead certain regions to work on their mandate.
"Women are also able to lead the area, this will contribute to the success of the simultaneous elections in 2017," he added.
To encourage the role of women in politics, the Home Affairs Ministry involves the Women Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Ministry through the signing of a collective agreement as a strategic step in the development and empowerment of women and protection of children.
The PPPA Ministry will also hold "training of facilitator" to promote gender equality, particularly in the fields of politics ahead of elections in 2019.
"Training of facilitators (ToF) is a strategic to step in the implementation of the MoU and part of the attempt to forge a facilitator who is able to transform the values of gender politics," said PPPA Minister, Yohana Yambise.
In addition, the two ministries have also prepared a political school for 68.881 people in 34 provinces and 514 regencies and cities in Indonesia. (WDY)
