"We are consistent, that is clear. We are in the process of transforming the national economic fundamentals. We want the people and the business community to know that we will continue to work to reform regulations," the president said when opening a limited cabinet meeting at the presidential office here on Thursday.
The government has announced four economic policy packages pruning regulation and simplifying licensing procedure in a bid to boost investment to shore up the countrys flagging economy.
Jokowi said the four packages already announced are expected to jolt the countrys economy into life and encourage the business players.
"This afternoon meeting would discussed follow up steps. The first up to the fourth packages provide a breakthrough with short term stimulus and mid and long term incentives," he said.
Together with Bank Indonesia and the Financial Service Authority (OJK) the government would seek more breakthrough steps to bolster the economy, he said.
"Therefore the steps already taken would be continued in cooperation with Bank Indonesia and OJK," he added.
The meeting was attended by chief economics minister Darmin Nasution, Bank Indonesia Governor Agus Martowardojo, Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister at the State Secretariat Pratikno, Cabinet secretary Pramono Anung and a number of other ministers.
The government is expected to announce its fifth economic policy package.(WDY)
