Gianyar, Bali (Antara Bali) -- Arema Cronus Indonesia of Malang, East Java won the third position after defeating Mitra Kukar of East Kalimantan 2-0 at the "I Wayan Dipta" Stadium here on Saturday night (Oct 17).
Arema could only score a goal in the 49th minute through its striker Cristian Gonsales after receiving a pass from Alfarizi.
The second goal was scored by Hendro Siswanto in the 85th minute through a hard kick from outside the penalty box.
The match saw referee Oki Dwi Putra issuing seven yellow cards, of which three were for Arema players, namely, I Gede Sukadana (44th minute), Cristian Gonsales (52nd minute) and Alfarizi (82nd minute).
Four yellow cards were for Mitra Kukar players, namely, Maulana Sepulah (35th minute), Defri Riski (44th minute), Zulkifli Syukur (46th minute) and Yogi Rahadian (76th minute).
Having won the third rank, Arema received a cash price of one billion rupiah, while Mitra Kukar received Rp500 million.
Arema failed to advance to the final round of the President Cup after being defeated by Sriwijaya FC of South Sumatra 1-2 in the second leg of the semifinals of the President Cup which took place at the Manahan Solo stadium on Sunday evening (Oct.11). (WDY)
