Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono inspected one of Jakarta's main train stations in Senen, Central Jakarta, on Monday, which is the first day of the post-fasting holiday of Lebaran.
His arrival along with Vice President Boediono, Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Agung Laksono and National Police Chief General Timur Pradopo at around 10.30 am certainly drew the attention of would-be passengers.
"I also used to go by train from here home in Java, when I was young" he said in a dialog with a passenger. The President said the train service has now been far better than at the time.
"We have to jostle to board the carriage then. Now all passengers are given seats based on their tickets," he said.
President Yudhoyono toured the station for about 20 minutes. Streets in the city meanwhile have started to be quiet as many users have gone for the post-fasting holiday of Lebaran. (*/DWA)
