Kuta (Antara Bali) - The cockpit voice recorded of the Lion Air plane that crashed in the sea water before reaching the runway during landing at Bali's Ngurah Rai airport on Saturday has been found.
The CVR was discovered by First Lieutenant Rendi Daniel (26) from the engineering unit of the Udayana Regional Military Command on Monday with the help of Lion Air technician Ramos Octavio.
"I stayed two meters below the surface for 30 minutes water before finally discovering the CVR," he told newsmen at the Ngurah Rai International Airport's Emergency Operations Center.
The device was found trapped between rocks, he added.
The chief of the Emergency Operation Center team, Purwanto, said he would immediately submit the VCR to the National Committee for Transportation Safety (KNKT) for study. (IGT)
