The bank, which is owned by the West Java and Banten regional administrations, is seeking the license this year, its President Bien Subiantoro said.
"We hope to secure the license this year, but for the time being we will team up with a local partner offering the service," Bien said here on Wednesday.
The local partner has a chain of remittance offices with virtual banking system , he said on the sidelines of a meeting between West Java business delegation and Singaporean counterparts held at the Indonesian embassy.
"Through virtual banking, a bank could work on remittance business with network system connected online," he said.
The system has been used by the bank in various countries such as in Malaysia, Taiwan, Hongkong and Middle East targeting Indonesian workers, he added. (*/DWA/T007)
