Kupang (Antara Bali) - The drop in the rank of the Komodo National Park from 4th to 17th in voting on the seven wonders of the world is caused by the internal security situation, a minister said Sunday.

The main thing is that people participate in maintaining national security to raise  the rank,"  Minister of Culture and Tourism Jero Wacik said on the sidelines of conclusion of  Sasando Festival in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) , Sunday.

The Komodo national park in West Manggarai regency had dropped to 17th position among 28 finalists.

Jero Wacik invite the Indonesian people to support the Komodo dragon in becoming the seven wonders of the world.

"We are still supporting and ask the people to support the  komodo dragon to recognized as one of the seven wonders of the world," he said.

Jero Wacik keep calling on the people to give their support by participating in casting their vote in www.new7wonder.com.

In order to regain the previous position of the komodo dragons, the NTT provincial government is also holding a voting campaign to support the Komodo dragon in West Manggarai regency.

The campaign is predicted to be joined by some 3,000 participants in the regency to make the voting for the Kommodo dragons a success.

"We will make sure that about 3,000 people would joint the voting," Manggarai tourism observer Rofino Kant said.

The campaign aims to support the Komodo dragon and makes the people become aware of conserving the Komodo National Park (TNK) and raise  the  ratings of the komodo ratings at the same time. (*)
