Jakarta (Antara Bali) - A number of companies in Indonesia will participate in the Fancy Food Show from June 17-19, 2012 in Washington DC, an Indonesian official has said.
"By participating in the show, the Indonesian companies can expand their market in the United States, because the opportunity to become food and beverage suppliers, distributors, and traders in the country is open wide because of the show," Indonesian trade attaché in the US, Made Marthini, told ANTARA in a written statement on Saturday.
According to Made, the Fancy Food Show would be the greatest exhibition of its kind to promote more than 180,000 kinds of food and beverage product.
He added that the show would host some 2,500 exhibitors from 81 countries, and predicted 24,000 people would attend.
He pointed out that the participating companies from Indonesia included Cocomas, Garuda Food, Indofood, Pacific Republic, PT Perkebunan Nusantara, Takari, and Valbemar.
"We hope Indonesian food and beverage products will become more well-known and increasingly available in retail shops in the United States," Made said.(*/M038/IGT)
