Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Personnel from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police shot down two illegal weapon sellers on Friday in Cipacing area, West Java province, an official said.
"The two people were suspected of selling weapons to robbers around the area. We could trace them after arresting a robber in Ciputat area, Banten province," Jakarta Metropolitan Police Senior Commissioner Rikwanto said here on Friday.
Rikwanto stated the two suspects, Doni Rahman and Teten, were shot to death after attempting to escape from the police.
Meanwhile, the Jakarta police's general crimes directorate chief Senior Commissioner Toni Harmanto noted Teten had been manufacturing illegal weapons for quite some time, while Doni had links with some robbers.
After the shooting incident, the police seized five illegal FN and Magazen weapons, 156 sharp bullets, two computers and several other items that were used to manufacture the weapons.(IGT)
