Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesian police fatally shot three foreigners believed to be part of an international drug syndicate, in Sukabumi, West Java, on Friday at 1.30 am local time.
"The three foreigners, who were members of an international drug syndicate, were killed after exchanging fires with police officers, as they fought back by using fire arms," Senior Commissioner Boy Rafli Amas, a spokesman of the National Police, said here on Friday.
One suspect survived in the shooting incident and was currently being interrogated, he said.
"Right now, we don't where the dead foreigners and seven others who are arrested, are from. But for sure, they ar members of an international drug syndicate given the evidence consisting of a large amount of crystal methamphetamine smuggled through waters area," Boy said.
On January 16, police arrested six illegal drug couriers at Ujung Genteng area, Sukabumi, he said.
The police, however, did not find any evidence because their wooden boat capsized after being hit by four-meter waves off Ujung Genteng.(IGT)
