Semarang (Antara Bali) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono met with anti-corruption activists on the sidelines of the commemoration of  World Anti-Corruption Day here on Friday to collect inputs for increased efforts in corruption eradication.

He said inputs from anti-corruption activists were very important for the government with regard to its fight against corruption.

"I would not like to give a speech as I had done it at the commemoration of the Anti-Corruption Day just now. Now I want inputs from you all so that efforts to prevent and fight corruption will be more successful. I will not allow anti-corruption fighters to be crushed or silenced because that will make our enemies (corrupters) only free to operate," he said in a special session with anti-corruption activists.

Those who attended the session included  Danang Widoyoko from the Indonesian Corruption Watch, Teten Masduki from  Indonesia International Transparency, Paramadina University deputy rector Wijayanto, Oce Madril and Hifzil Alim from  Yogyakarta-based state Gajah Mada University Anti-Corruption Center, Alexander Lay from the Indonesian Legal Roundtable, Hadi Prayitno from Fitra and Jamil Mubarok from the Indonesia Transparency Community.

There were around 60 anti-corruption non-governmental organization activists attending the dialog.(**)
