Kupang (Antara Bali) - An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale jolted Waingapu, East Sumba district, East Nusa Tenggara province, on Sunday.
The epicenter of the quake which struck at 06.35 a.m. was 18 km southwest of Waingapu at a depth of 40 km, spokesman of the Kupang Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Office Safii said.
The temblor was felt by people in Waingapu at III on the modified merchalli intensity scale.
No fatalities or injuries were reported in the quake.(*)
