Nusa Dua (Antara Bali) - The Ministry of Communication and Information has stopped the registration of journalists wishing  to cover the ASEAN Summit because the number of those already registered has exceeded the quota of 2,000, an official said.

"We are compelled to reject requests for new registration of journalists because the number of those who have been registered has reached 2,200. The quota has been exceeded by 200 journalists," Sadjan, Media Center coordinator of the ASEAN Summit said here on Wednesday.

He said his office would firmly implement the policy of closing registrations, and would not discriminate one and another, no matter whether or not they are media leaders.

Therefore, he extended his apology to those who had yet obtained accreditation to cover the ASEAN Summit.(*)
