Denpasar (Antaranews Bali) - The Ministry of Social Affairs is ready to facilitate Indonesian athletes who won gold medals in the 2018 Asian Para Games (APG) event, so they can be appointed as civil servants.
"We are ready to support this, so that disability athletes who excel in APG will be able to get more appreciation from the country by being appointed as civil servants," Social Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said in Denpasar on Sunday.
He asserted, the Ministry of Social Affairs will urge Administrative Reform Minister to be able to appoint civil servants from athletes with disabilities with this achievement, considering that those who have made the name of the Indonesian nation proud are displayed internationally.
"If this can be realized, we are ready to accommodate these civil servants with disabilities in each area under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs," Agus said in the accompany of House Speaker Bambang Soesatyo and General Chairperson of INAPGOC Para Game Raja Sapta Oktohari.
This support was also conveyed by the Governor of Bali, I Wayan Koster who is also ready to help to coordinate with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture to give special awards to disability athletes who excel in the APG event taking place in Indonesia.
"I am ready to facilitate Balinese athletes with disabilities who excel so that they can be appointed directly to become civil servants through special channels, because they have brought a heavy burden to the name of the great people," he said.
This number one person in Bali, also gave full support and enthusiasm to ten Balinese athletes who competed in the APG event to show their maximum abilities so they could bring a gold medal to Indonesia.
"I will pray that Balinese athletes in particular and Indonesian athletes in general can give gold medals for our country and can follow in the footsteps of Indonesian athletes who can reach the top ten in the Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang some time ago," said Koster.
The ten athletes with disabilities from Bali who participated in defending the country in the APG 2018 event were athletes branched out by weightlifting as many as two people named Nengah Widiasih A and Nengah Widiasih B, from badminton sports also fielded Putu Cristiani.
