Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The state-owned oil/gas company, PT Pertamina (Persero), has agreed to buy a total of 600,000 metric tons of refrigerated Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from an Iranian firm for the 2016-2017 period, an official has stated.
In an effort to purchase the LPG, Senior Vice President of the Integrated Supply Chain Pertamina, Daniel Syahputra Purba dan, Vice Director for International Affairs, Petroleum Product Marketing and Operation NIOC Moradi of Iran signed the head of agreement (HoA) in Teheran on Monday (May 30), according to a press statement of Pertamina received here.
Vice President Corporate Communication Pertamina Wianda Pusponegoro informed that the purchase of LPG Refrigerated from NIOC will be effected through its first delivery starting from the fourth quarter of 2016.
The two cargoes will be shipped this year, and 12 cargoes will be shipped in 2017, with the total volume reaching 600,000 MT, she pointed out.
"This is a very strategic agreement, considering that Indonesia's year on year demand of LPG is increasing," Wianda stated.
In 2016, the sale of Pertamina's LPG reaches 7.5 million MT, up by 13.6 percent, compared with that of last year.
Wianda further observed that Pertamina and NIOC have also agreed to continue the crude oil supply to Pertamina. (WDY)
