Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Coordinating Minister of Maritime Indroyono Soesilo expressed pride over Indonesia's participation at the World Expo Milano 2015, which is more famous than the World Cup and Olympiad.
"In this world, there are only three events that cannot be missed: World Cup, Olympiad, and World Expo. Being at the World Expo Milano is amazing," Indroyono stated at the launch ceremony of the Indonesian ship Banjarmasin-592 at Madura Ujung seaport, Surabaya, Tuesday evening (April 28).
According to the minister, the five-yearly event in Milan, Italy, is a moment for Indonesia to repeat its success of the Indonesian ship Dewaruci that participated in the same event in 1961 in New York, the United States.
"Now, we are in again. So let us succeed in this event and realize the government's vision to make Indonesia the world's maritime axis," the minister affirmed.
Indroyono remarked that Indonesia will be one of the 145 countries participating in the international trading expo, World Expo Milano 2015 in Milan, Italy.
Indonesia will have a pavilion themed, "Stages of The World" and will showcase its natural and cultural wealth.The Indonesian pavilion is divided into five zones: Indonesia today, Foods, Energy, Maritime, and Cultures.
Indonesia will also showcase World Ocean Day on June 2015. Within the next three days, the Indonesian pavilion will be inaugurated by Indonesian Minister of Trading Rachmat Gobel in Milan, Indroyono revealed.
Indonesian ship Banjarmasin-592 has departed for Genoa, Italy, to participate in the World Expo Milano 2015. Before arriving in Genoa, the ship will halt in Cochin (India), Djibouti, and Alexandria (Egypt). (WDY)
