Jakarta (Antara Bali) - China Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) has stated that the bilateral meeting between the heads of state of Indonesia and People's Republic of China has helped in enhancing investment growth in the two countries.

"In the last six months, President of Indonesia Joko Widodo has met President of China Xi Jinping twice. The last meeting was at the Asian African Conference recently. The meeting supported the bilateral investment relationship," Deputy Director of CIPA Yang Yihang said here Tuesday.

Besides the advancement in economic sector, cooperation in the field of politics also increased, he added.

Regarding the  maritime axis program, the Indonesian government can establish cooperation with China to realize the program as it is similar to that being encouraged by China.

"President Xi Jinping and President Joko Widodo have the same objective -- to strengthen maritime activities. This can be the base for the good relationship between the two countries," Yang said, adding that developing the economic sector will ensure the success of diplomatic relations between China and Indonesia.

According to him, the two countries need to intensify information sharing mechanisms to ensure successful investment.

"China wants to relocate its manufacturing bases to Indonesia, but getting information and ensuring that regulations are applied in Indonesia is still difficult," Yang said.

Yang has met the Coordinating Board for Investment (BKPM) to discuss the situation in Indonesia and the investment related regulations.

As a result of the meeting, the CIPA was able to obtain such explanations as investment regulations, and will forward the results to business players in China. (WDY)
