Sukabumi (Antara Bali) - A landslide triggered by heavy rains damaged three houses in West Java's Sukabumi city on Saturday.
The landslide caused serious damage to two houses and light damage to one house, acting head of the Sukabumi city disaster mitigation board (BPBD), Hendra Resmandra, said.
However, no fatalities were reported in the landslide. The heavy rains caused a 15-meter high hill behind the houses to slide onto the three houses, he said.
He said landslide victims whose houses were seriously damaged in the disaster have been evacuated to their neighbors' and relatives' homes.
BPBD officers were still on standby in the area, as heavy rains continued to fall in all sub-districts in the city, Hendra said.
"We have distributed emergency aid, including dining utensils, beds and instant food, to the victims," he said. The losses caused by the landslide might reach hundreds of millions of rupiahs, Hendra predicted. (*/DWA)
