Jakarta (Antara Bali) - CN235, a propeller aircraft product of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) has attracted attention at the two-day Asia-Pacific Security and Defense Expo (APSDEX) ended.
CN235 has become a defense aircraft favorite for its ability to land and take off in a small air strip with its ramp door,Rachmat Ghozaly Eko, a marketing staff of PT Dirgantara Indonesia, the state aircraft maker, said.
Many participants from Asia Pacific countries at the exhibition indicated strong interest in CN235 aircraft, Rachmat told reporters at the exhibition at the Jakarta Convention Center.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono opened the exhibition on Tuesday attended by military and civilian officials of 33 countries .
It was held as part of biannual program of Jakarta International Defense Dialogue (JIDD). Rachmat said the customers of PTDI are neighboring countries interested in small types of aircraft.
Order is expected to come soon from the Philippine air force after Dirgantara Indonesia wraps up shipment of CN235 aircraft for the Indonesian navy, he said. (DWA/IGT)
