Kalianda, Lampung (Antara Bali) - Bakauheni Police in Lampung Selatan district have foiled a smuggling attempt of 2 kg of marijuana at Bakauheni ferry port and arrested the smuggler.
Bakauheni police spokesman Adjunct Commissioner Harto Agung Cahyono said the arrest was made on Thursday (31/1) at 08.00 pm local time with a suspect on behalf Joko Susilo (28), a resident of Payakumbuh District, North Sumatra.
"The suspect boarded a bus, and the drugs that from Padang addressed to Jakarta,"he said
The two packages of drugs hidden in the passenger luggage in the bus to avoid police checks.
He said that security at Bakauheni Port in Lampung, the main port connecting Sumatra with Java will be increased to suppress the circulation of drugs which are usually happened in the area.
KSKP also thwart the smuggling of dried marijuana, a total of 32 packages 32 pounds from Aceh addressed to Malang, East Java, and arrested a suspect based on the results of the development of the case. (*/DWA/T007)
