Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesia's national news agency Antara marked its 75th anniversary here on Thursday in a ceremony attended among others by its former chiefs.
Its current president director, Saiful Hadi, in his speech said that Antara would always put forward public interests in its operations.
In the midst of tight competition in the media business in the country the state-owned agency would continue to advance offering honest, non-violent and non-provocative contents and not only for the interest of the few.
"Antara news agency will always prioritize the interest of the Indonesian people," he said.
He said Antara journalists have the capability to present local, national and also international events in the form of written, photo and video reports.
The event was also attended by representatives from Malaysian news agency Bernama, Japanese news agency Kyodo and Iranian news agency Irna. (IGT/T007)
