Bandarlampung (Antara Bali) - A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale, struck Maluku province here on Monday at 14.51 Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB).
According to data from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the quake was centered in the northwest of the Maluku Tenggara Barat area at 6.66 southern longitude and 129.86 eastern latitude, and at a depth of 172 kilometers.
The earthquake has no potential to trigger tsunamis, an official said.(*/T007)
