Jakarta (Antara Bali) - West Jakarta police have named eight members of the Forum Betawi Rempug (FBR) community group suspects for allegedly being involved in the destruction of a Forum Anak Betawi (Forkabi) command post on Wednesday.
"They were named suspects after intensive questioning and based on sufficient evidence," West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Resort chief Senior Commissioner Suntana said here on Thursday.
He said the police had seized and intensively interrogated 15 people after the incident happened.
He said four of them who had been named suspects were proven carrying sharp weapons when caught two of them believed to be involved in the vandalism and two others in provocation and mobilizing people in the incident.
The police had freed seven others due to a lack of evidence for naming them suspects but if more evidence is found later the number of suspects may still rise, he said.(IGT)
