Denpasar (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian tourist resort province of Bali exported plastic-based products worth US$20.97 million in the January - November 2011 period, a regional government official said.

"In term of value, the plastic product exports increased by 12.62 percent but in term of volume it dropped by 24.58 percent," Bali's Regional Government Spokesman I Ketut Teneng said here on Sunday.

In the same period a year earlier Bali shipped 25.98 million pieces of plastic handicraft products worth US$18.62 million, he said.

He said that plastic-based souvenir goods was one of the six handicraft commodity items of Bali which had penetrated the world market.

Bali's plastic products were able to contribute 4.54 percent of the total Bali exports worth US$462.16 million in the January - November 2011 period.

He said other products included foot wares (4.12 million dollars), textile and textile products (117.54 million dollars), bags (643,931 dollars) and house components (3.73 million dollars).(I006/M038)
