Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali's garment exports in the ten months through October 2011 rose 15.56 percent to US$110.2 million from US$96.4 million a year earlier, making the commodity the biggest foreign exchange earner among the province's non-oil/non-gas commodities.
The garment exports in the first ten months of 2011 accounted for 25.98 percent of the province's overall non-oil/non-gas exports reaching US$424.6 million over the period, Head of the Export Section at the Bali Provincial Industry and Trade Office Putu Bagiada SE said on Thursday.
Garment was among the province's three key export commodities besides fresh and frozen tuna and wooden handicraft goods.
Fresh and frozen tuna exports in the January-October 2011 period were valued at US$70.4 million or 16.6 percent of the overall non-oil/non-gas exports, while wooden handicraft goods contributed US$52.3 million or 12.34 percent.(**)
