Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) recorded a slight increase of 0.26 percent in composite share price index (IHSG) last week ending Friday.

Head of the BEI Communications Division  Hani Ahadiyani said the index rose to 5,872.39 points at the end of last week trading day  from 5,857.11 points a week earlier.

"The market capitalization also rose 0.26 percent to Rp6,441.05 trillion, and the value of  daily transaction averaged Rp6.72 trillion up 7.35 percent from," Hani said.

The frequency of daily trade up 14.11 percent to 331.38 trillion  involving 8.2 billion shares , down 19.84 percent from 10.23 billion a week earlier.

Indosurya Sekuritas analyst William Surya Wijaya said foreign investors tending to sell shares curbed the IHSG from rising higher.

Based on data at BEI , foreign net sell reached Rp1.65 trillion in last week trade bringing the total foreign net sell to Rp7.68 trillion so far this year.

William predicted that the IHSG would continue to gain and would reach the level of 5,805-5,911 points  on Monday. (WDY)
