Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Jakarta composite index (JCI) opened higher on Monday on positive expectation of the country's economic fundamentals.
The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) rose 16.39 points or 0.32 percent to 5,161.09 points with index of 45 most liquid stocks up 0.47 percent to 890.21.
Asjaya Indosurya Securities' analyst William Suryawijaya said positive economic fudamental and rupiah stability contributed to the JCI rise.
"Inflow of foreign capital that remains strong this year and year-end window dressing strengthen the JCI," William said.
He predicted the JCI will continue to be on the rising trend in short term .
Regional markets such as Hang Seng and Straits Times recorded gain in indices but Nikkei share prices fell.(WDY)
