Biak (Antara Bali) - One thousand and thirteen people have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS in Biak Numfor District of Papua in 2012, according to local health office data.
Head of Health Office of Biak Imron Ohoirella said Biak became the third biggest region having people with HIV/AIDS in Papua.
"It needs concerns of all people to prevent and counter the HIV/AIDS prevalence," Ohoirella said here Sunday.
Ohoirella hoped the cooperation between the Biak administration, UNICEF, religious figures, traditional leaders, non-governmental associations and the society could improve HIV/AIDS prevention measures.
"The agreement between all social elements for HIV/AIDS prevention campaign needs to be appreciated," Ohoirella said. (IGT/T007)
