Bali Nansan to boost Indonesia-China close relations

Quanzhou, China, (Antaranews Bali) - Chinese who lived in Bali Nansan Community of Quanzhou in Fujian Province has commitment to boost Indonesia and China relations especially by promoting Balinese art and culture to the local people. 
     
"This idea will be a platform to promote Bali so that Chinese will visit Bali," said Chairman of the overseas Chinese returned home association Chen Jin Hoa said here on Friday.
     
He said the willingness to strengthen relations between the two countries was based on their roots who were born and lived in Bali before the year of 1960's. 
     
Chen furthermore added that the community initiated to build a permanent art and culture park located inside the area as a place to perform Balinese art, supported by Chinese government.
     
Meanwhile chairman of the resident of "Kampung Bali Nansan" Se Poh said that the art and culture park will be decorated as Balinese design.
     
Se Poh who had a nick name as "Uu" added that the community needed supports from government of Indonesia including Bali especially in obtaining Balinese instruments such as carved ornaments, statues, traditional musics or gamelan and such things close to Bali which were hard to find in China. 
     
Uu whose parents were born in Temukus Village in Buleleng Regency of Bali Province said that they also needed a Balinese and Indonesian language and Balinese dance trainer to the community.
     
"Kampung Bali Nansan" is located at the foot of Qingyuan Mountain in Luojiang District, Quanzhou of Fujian Province which has land area of 2.5 square kilometres.
     
According to Chen Jin Hoa, the community has about 500 overseas Chinese who returned home from Bali and resettled in Quanzhou, 10 of them were native Balinese women married to Chinese. 
     
Bali cultural events such as dancing, costumes, food and even Balinese language were still well preserved as their second languages in the community. (Dwa)
