Denpasar, Bali (Antara) - Digital media can create tourism attraction through access to information easily obtained through social media, a tourism ministry official said.

"We hope that the development of digital media in all walks of life will foster tourism destinations and become known to the world," said Rizki Handayani Mustafa, Deputy of Industrial and Institutional Development of the Ministry of Tourism, in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Wednesday.

Therefore, good access will be able to facilitate tourists to reach the existing tourist attraction. In addition, quality national resources will have an impact on the growth of the large tourism industry in the era of digital media.

In the future, youth are expected to post something nice and unique from their respective places. Now, people no longer need to read newspapers, but get information through digital media. "So, if we still play in the conventional world, then we will be getting left behind," he said.

Rizki Handayani is very optimistic to see the benefits of human resources today. The superiority of the Indonesian people lies in their hospitality. Young people today should start developing this.

"For the time being, the right sector to develop is the tourism sector, in addition to developing the economic, social and cultural sectors. The global tourism grew by 5-6 percent, while in Indonesia it reached 22 percent," he said.

According to her, the high growth shows that Indonesian tourism is growing rapidly. "If our growth is below 5 percent it means our tourism growth is very low, but our tourism industry growth is above global growth, that means our tourism starts to promise something," he said.

Indonesia has a high tourism growth because the archipelago has the potential of tourism destinations that are extraordinary, let alone the potential of tourism everywhere have comparative advantage compared with other countries.

"Talking about the culture from Sabang to Merauke, we see our tourism destinations are very amazing, we also talk about nature, from beaches, sea, mountains and savanna. We have everything, so we have what tourists want," said Mustafa.

Moreover, the opening of new airports with international standard has made accessibility to Indonesia even better. "Although tourism objects are interesting, if access is difficult, people will think twice about making a visit," she said.

Previously (March 27), Head of High Tourism School (STP) of Nusa Dua, Bali, Dewa Gde Ngurah Byomantara, asserted that his side keeps trying to improve creativity and innovation of every human resource to be superior and winner of global tourism competition.

"Implementation of creativity and innovation is realized in the utilization of information technology through activities related to the digital world," said Dewa Gde Ngurah Byomantara. (A014)
