Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Managing Director of the state-owned radio station, RRI, Niken Widiastuti was elected president of the Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) through the mechanism of one country one vote at the AIBD General Conference in Kathmandu, Nepal.
"This is the first time in the past 38 years Indonesia is believed and elected as president of the AIBD," said Niken in an e-mail received here on Sunday.
Niken said that the AIBD members today are no longer radio or television station from the Asia Pacific regions only, but also from international ones.
"Prior to being elected as president of the AIBD, I was contributing in the AIBD Strategic Plan Team that arranges the international broadcasting policy platform," said Niken.
The policy platforms concerned about broadcast contents according to issues from global, regional and local levels, the development of digital technology, convergence and social media, and business management.(IGT)
