Tourism Ministry Sets Target For 2.1 Million Chinese Visitors

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian Affairs Ministry has set a target for 2.1 million Chinese visitors, including from Taiwan and Hong Kong, to the different tourist destinations in the country, according to a statement.

Under the target, some 1.7 million visitors are expected from mainland China, 275 thousand from Taiwan and 125 thousand from Hong Kong, the ministry's statement received here on Thursday said.

In its effort to promote foreign tourist destinations, the ministry has also invited Chinese media persons to visit various tourist spots in the country.

Previously, the ministry had also promoted the "Wonderful Indonesia" campaign in the People's Republic of China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, as well as featured the country's cultural performances and culinary products.

In addition, CNN International has declared the tourist spot of Labuan Bajo, in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as the second best of snorkeling area after the Raja Ampat object in the West Papua province.(WDY)
