Denpasar (Antara Bali) - The number of Chinese holiday makers in Bali has increased fast rising 53.29 percent on-year to 163,103 in the first half of the year.
The Chinese made up around 12 percent of the total number of foreign visitors to the island or second only the Australian visitors that reached 379,370 in the six months period.
Malaysians were the third with 82,996 visitors, according to official record.
The increase in the number of Chinese tourist spending time in Bali followed growing number of Chinese leaders visiting the country especially Bali,says Dewa Nyoman Putra,a tourism observer.
This year, the number of Chinese visitors to Bali is the highest in growth, Dewa said here on Wednesday.
Dewa attributed the increase also to more intensive promotion of the Bali's natural beasuty abroad including China.(*/T007)
