Bali
(Antara) - Bali province will host the first ever international forum on
clean energy on February 11-12.
The forum will bring together 45 energy ministers and some 1,000
representatives from the energy sectors in 80 countries, Secretary
General of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Teguh Pamuji said
at a meeting with Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika here on Saturday.
The selection of Bali as a venue of the forum is based on the fact
that Bali is one of the Indonesian provinces which has successfully
developed clean energy, he said.
"Hopefully, the spirit of Bali to develop new and renewable clean
energy can be disseminated to other provinces," he said.
He said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will open the meeting called "Bali Clean Energy Forum".
The forum will comprise five pillars. The first pillar will serve
as a forum for ministers to discuss a subsequent policy on new energy.
The second pillar will serve as a forum for world experts expected
to give inputs to governments of the participating countries to develop
clean and environmentally friendly energy.
The third pillar will serve as a forum for representatives from the
energy sectors, and the fourth pillar will serve as a forum for the
community expected to improve the public`s knowledge of clean energy, he
said.
The fifth pillar will serve as a forum for youths expected to contribute to the development of clean energy. (WDY)
