Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Indonesian government is set to announce its decision regarding fuel oil prices later this week.
"Fuel oil prices are being calculated. They will be announced as early as possible most likely later this week," President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said after launching a labor-intensive investment program at PT Adis Dimension Footwear in West Balaraja, Banten Province, on Monday.
He said the prices of premium gasoline, diesel oil and aviation turbine (avtur) fuel are being calculated.
The fuel oil prices are calculated by taking into account efficiency aspect, he said.
"It (policy) may apply to premium gasoline, diesel oil, avtur or other fuels. (The new prices) are being calculated," he said.
The President said electrical power tariffs are also still being calculated. "I dont want these to be lowered but they must be recalculated by taking into account the efficiency factor. We have yet to decide these," he said.
Last week, at a meeting of the economic regulation program III, President Jokowi had asked all related ministries to reduce the prices of fuels such as premium and diesel oil.
"We need the state oil and gas company, Pertamina, to recalculate and see whether it was possible to reduce the price of premium fuel," Jokowi said.(WDY)
