"With the participation of 600 world-class weapons manufacturers, the younger generation, in particular, will gain knowledge of the main equipment in our arsenal (alutsista)," Marsetio said.
At the fair, the navy chief saw the equipment showcased by Lundin Industry of Indonesia, SAAB of Sweden, and AgustaWestland of Italy.
Such an expo is very important to strengthen the "alutsista" of the country, especially to advance its maritime potential, Marsetio remarked.
The "Indo Defense 2014 Expo & Forum" is the largest such event of the defense, aerospace and marine industries of Indonesia.
More than 600 companies from 47 countries, including the U.S., Germany, France, South Korea, Great Britain, India, Russia, and Spain, among others, participated in the November 5-8 event. (WDY)
