Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Constitutional Court Chief Justice Hamdan Zoelva has
acknowledged to have found a great deal of evidence regarding the recent
legislative election disputes that were submitted to the court.
"I have checked them all and a lot of them have been omitted and added," Zoelva informed newsmen here on Friday.
Zoelva said he could easily spot which evidence was original and which one was fake.
"It can be clearly differentiated," he added.
When asked whether he intends to report it to the police as a case
of document falsification, Zoelva remarked that he will refer it to the
concerned parties.
"I think it should be the parties concerned that should do it," he added.
Zoelva said his office will finish all the panels sessions on Friday.
"Questioning of witnesses and verification of the evidence has all
been completed. It will finish today. Next week, a judges deliberation
meeting will be held, and in the subsequent week, the ruling is expected
to be announced, he stated.
The court has received 914 cases of election disputes following the
legislative elections on April 9, comprising 880 from political parties
and 34 from Regional Representative Council candidates.
However, a total of 217 lawsuits have been halted as they were withdrawn and failed to meet the legal requirements.
MK is expected to settle all the disputes before the presidential election scheduled on July 9.(WDY)
