Jakarta (Antara Bali) - A magnitude 5.1 earthquake shook  Central Sulawesi at 10.44pm on Friday.

"The quake was felt very strong by the people for 14 seconds making them to run outside their homes," National Disaster Mitigation Agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said in a written statement here on Friday.

He said the quake has no potential to cause a tsunami and no reports of damage have been received so far.

According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency the epicenter of the quake was 10 kilometer deep, 53 kilometers northeast of Tonouna Una district. (*/DWA)
