Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar, Bali, announced a 24-hour suspension of flight operations during Silence Day (Nyepi).

"In accordance with Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) Number A0096, all regular commercial flight activities at the airport will be suspended starting March 19, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. to March 20, 2026, at 6:00 a.m.," the airport's General Manager, Nugroho Jati, informed in a statement on Thursday (March 12).

He explained that this operational closure is part of the airport's commitment to supporting and respecting Nyepi.

During this period, there will be no regular flights departing or landing at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.

He also confirmed that all airlines had informed their passengers regarding flight schedule adjustments.

According to airport data, 440 regular commercial flights will be suspended during the 24 hours of Nyepi, comprising of 231 domestic flights and 209 international flights.

During this period, 19 aircraft were scheduled to remain overnight or park at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport.
