Palangka Raya (Antara Bali) - China has become the main export market for Central Kalimantan's commodities over the past several years.

Central Kalimantan exported US$93.14 million worth of goods to China in March or an increase of 100.17 percent from the previous month, the regional office of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said.


The March's exports were the highest, making up 55.6 percent of the total value of exports of the province to China in the first quarter of the year.

In the January-March period, Central Kalimantan's exports to China were valued at US$179.73 million or an increase of 13.82 percent from US$157.91 million the same period in 2012, chief of the provincial office of BPS Panusunan Siregar said here on Saturday.

Exports to China were dominated by timber and wood products, accounting for US$134 million in the three months period followed by coal valued at US$60.231 million.

Other export commodities to China include metal ore, rubber and rubber goods. (IGT)
