Bandarlampung (Antara Bali) - An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale rocked Nabire in Indonesia's eastern-most province of Papua on Wednesday morning, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
The epicenter of the quake which struck at 08.00 a.m. local time was in the sea 135 km southwest of Nabire or 3,121 km northeast of Jakarta at a depth of 31 km, the head of the Kotabumi geophysics station in Lampung, Yuharman said. The quake was not significant enough to trigger a tsunami. (*/DWA)
