Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Human-trafficking offenders remain resorting to using the social media to kidnap more victims.
"Presumably, the human trafficking actors are now seeking their victims using the social media such as Facebook, Twitter and many more," said the secretary of the Women Empowerment and Children Protection Ministry, Sri Danti, here on Monday.
Appealing to all parties to monitor the social media misuse, especially parents, Sri said: "Parents and the community should supervise their children so as not to be persuaded by the traffickers to obtain more victims."
Support from all concerned is also needed in this task. The government has already formed a task force for the prevention of human-trafficking.
Sri noted: "In this case, the government cannot work alone and needs the help of all stakeholders from community organizations and parents".(IGT/T007)
