Kendari (Antara Bali) - Two Southeast Sulawesi Democrat Party (PD) leaders have  called on the party's chief patron, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), to sack Marzuki Alie from his positions as House of Representatives (DPR) speaker and as a member of the party's advisory board for often damaging the party's image by his actions.

Abdul Salam Saadia, chairman of PD's  North Buton district executive board, and Surahman, chairman of the party's North Kolaka district branch, said here Saturday they had made the call on behalf of the party's 12 regional executive boards in Southeast Sulawesi.

They said the turmoil that had recently hit the Democrat Party,  especially internal moves to unseat PD Chairman Anas Urbaningrum, was related to politicking acts by Marzuki.

Citing an instance of Marzuki's politicking, Salam said , when  the House speaker was abroad four days ago, he sent a short text message to  party chief patron Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono suggesting the preparation of candidates  who could replace Anas Urbaningrum as party chairman.

Last January 23, Salam said,  Marzuki in his capacity as a member of the party's advisory board, held a meeting at a certain location in Jakarta to name four PD cadres as candidates to replace Anas Urbaningrum.

"Marzuki's recent  politicking acts  can no longer be tolerated because they have caused great anxiety among party cadres and damaged the party's image." Salam said.(IGT)
