The former Indonesian Special Forces commander the regions in East Indonesia would determine the future of the nation because they had extensive natural resources that could be managed properly for the national interest in the future.
Prabowo made the statement in his address to inaugurate the management of East Nusa Tenggara branch of Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (IPSI) in Kupang.
Admitting that he has emotional tie with East Nusa Tenggara, Prabowo said the area had tremendous potentials that could be developed for the local and national welfare.
Besides, he said the people of East Nusa Tenggara had great loyalty to the nation and were ready to die to defend the commitment that has been built together.
"It was my experience when I was active in the National Defense Forces (TNI), I had a lot of staffers from East Nusa Tenggara who were very loyal and ready to sacrifice their lives for the sake of defending the 'Red and Whit'", Prabowo said.
"I am optimistic that East Nusa Tenggara will progress, and I also have a courage to say that East Indonesia is the future of this state and nation," he added.(T007)
