(Antara Bali) - Hundreds of cadets from ASEAN countries taking part in an
integrated sailing exercise arrived in Benoa Harbor, here Thursday,
aboard the Indonesian warship KRI Dewaruci.
Commander of the Denpasar Naval Base Lt Col Gusti Bagus Oka Tapayasa greeted the cadets who are participating in the ASEAN Cadet Sail 2016 expedition.
It is organized by the Indonesian Naval Academy for one month until October 10.
The activity is aimed at strengthening relations and friendship among cadets of the participating countries, according to Commander of the Naval Task Force Colonel Isworo Sulistyanto.
The cadets will exchange knowledge and information on the latest issues during the event.
They will also be exposed to other Indonesian regions and culture during the expedition.
The cadets made a stopover in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, to learn about the Sasak culture, before leaving for Benoa, Bali. (WDY)
