Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali has been again chosen to host the IMF-World Bank annual meeting in 2018 that will bring together international economic policy makers from around the world.
"We proposed Bali, and the organizers agreed to hold the event here," the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Indonesia, Hendar, said here on Friday.
The meeting will be attended by the governors of central banks of a number of countries, the IMF and World Bank leaders as well as economic policy makers from around the world, he said.
He added that many countries would have preferred to host the event.
After having visited Bali, the organizers agreed to convene the 2018 meeting in Bali.
Hendar said the meeting is a great opportunity to tell the story of Indonesia`s economic growth to the world.
The Bank of Indonesias Bali head, Causa Iman Karana, said the local organizer is making all preparations to ensure the success of the international event.
"It is not just for Bali, but the name of the nation is also involved. We hope everything will proceed well," he said.
The annual meeting of IMF and World Bank will be held in Nusa Dua in October 2018. (WDY)
