Jakarta (Antara Bali)- The Timor Leste government has bestowed awards on the officers of the Indonesian defense ministry and military involved in a free medical service mission carried out in Dili from January 29 to February 2, 2016.
The defense ministry of Timor Leste presented certificates to each officer involved in the civic mission.
Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu symbolically handed over the certificates to the officers at the defense ministry's office, here, Monday.
Timor Leste Ambassador to Indonesia Manuel Serano was present at the event.
Minister Ryacudu expressed his happiness that the mission conducted in the capital of Timor Leste had run successfully.
Ryacudu hoped that the bilateral cooperation between Timor Leste and Indonesia will be further strengthened not only in the defense field but also in other areas.
The minister lauded the Timor Leste government for conferring the awards.
Rear Admiral Agus Purwoto, director general of the defense ministry, a joint team of 441 personnel of the Indonesian Defense Ministry, and the Indonesian Defense Forces had conducted the civic mission.
During the mission, they had provided free medical services to 3,692 residents of Timor Leste. (WDY)
